Headphones or Earbuds: What to Choose?

Both headphones and earbuds are popular among consumers; they all are great devices that plays music and video sounds for you. But what’s the difference between them? Is one device better than another? If yes, then why? Let’s find out together!

Headphones

Headphones appeared much earlier than earbuds, and they have a long-built, trusting relationship with the consumers. Headphones are mainly used at home and you can rarely see the people walking down the street in headphones. What’s the reason for that? Although headphones are very comfortable, they’re bulky and inconvenient to use in public transport or in the streets.

Nevertheless, they provide a great sound isolation thanks to that bulkiness of theirs, which makes it better to listen to even the quietest of sounds. Also, some of the headphones have an in-built microphone, which is very useful in online gaming (that’s why many gamers choose such headsets).

Earbuds

Unlike headphones, earbuds are very compact and light – they’re almost unnoticeable (especially if we’re talking about wireless models). Earbuds are good to use when you go for a jog or do other sports, when you’re walking around the city or in the subway. However, they’re not as good at sound isolation, which sometimes prevents you from hearing music in crowded, noisy places.

Conclusion

If you love playing computer games or need complete sound isolation from disturbing noises, it’s better to choose headphones. They can be as comfortable with movement as earbuds if it’s a wireless model, too. If your primary use of earphones is to listen to music on your way to work, during a walk or a jog, choose earbuds – they’re more comfortable, and you can even remove one so that you could talk with someone on the street. With headphones, it would be more problematic.
